Animation 150: Keyframing I

During my first semester at columbia college Chicago I took animation 150: Keyframing I where I learned the basics of Autodesk maya as well as the principles of Animation. From the infamous bouncing ball Exercise to a bi-ped walk cycle I worked on building upon my animation skills.

Ball bounce

The infamous ball bounce exercise that focused on teaching Autodesk Maya as well as introducing the principles of animation.

1-Leg Jump

A second ball bounce exercise that focuses on learning  anticipation, squash & stretch, and Follow through.

Ball obstacle

Anther ball bounce exercise attempting an obstacle course that focuses on camera animation, anticipation, squash and stretch, timing, arcs, ease in & ease out, and appeal.

Walk cycle

A HIT CLASSIC. A walk cycle! First fully body character animation focused on learning pose to pose, timing, as well as arcs.

Run Cycle

Another cycle CLASSIC. Second fully body character animation focused on learning pose to pose, timing, spacing, and squash and strecth.

Run & Jump

Character Animation exercise focused on building upon my understanding of pose to pose, timing, arcs, and ease in & ease out.

Obstacle Course

During my keyframing 2 courses at columbia, I relearned the basic fundamentals with the box monster exercises as well as build upon character animations through various body mechanic Exercises.

Side Step

A full body character animation exercise with a focus on learning body mechanics through a character stepping over an object.

Push

Another full body character animation exercise with a focus on learning body mechanics through a character pushing an immovable object.

Constraints

Another body mechanic exercise practicing use of constraints in animation through a character bouncing a ball.

Sit to Stand

A body mechanic exercise with a focus on character acting through a sit and stand action.

biped Walk cycle

Another Walk Cycle exercise with a focus on practicing the fundalmentals.

Quad Walk Cycle

A Quadruped walk cycle exercise with the focus on learning quadruped animation.

Character Dialogue

First character acting exercise with a focus on learning to animate to dialogue.
